The Queen is back! Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (GER) secured victory in the World Cup leg in Lyon (FRA) yesterday evening in the saddle of her Trakehner mare Dalera BB. With a new freestyle to, among others, Edith Piaf's "Non, je ne regrette rien", she cracked the 90% mark at the first attempt with 90.140%. Isabell Werth (GER) and Emilio took second place ahead of Patrik Kittel (SWE) on Touchdown. Benjamin Werndl (GER) and Famoso placed fourth.
Tournament comeback, and then also with a new musical freestyle! But double Olympic gold medallist Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (GER) knows: Dalera can do it. The 15-year-old Trakehner mare already felt visibly at home in yesterday's World Cup Grand Prix and once again proved her extraordinary talent in the music freestyle.
The judges saw it the same way and rated the music freestyle to pieces like "Non, je ne regrette rien" by Edith Piaf and known from the film "Interception" with 90.14 %. This means that she broke the 90 % mark, as she did at the beginning of 2022 in Neumünster, s'Hertogenbosch and Leipzig:

"When you get one 90 % score after another with one freestyle, it's super hard to come up with a new freestyle. So honestly, the big goal was to get 90 % with this music now as well. The fact that it worked out is really cool! That was my wish and I prepared meticulously for it," the German rider explained her thoughts after the ride.
Isabell Werth (GER) and the 16-year-old Emilio placed second: The pair scored 87.945% and thus a clear improvement on their performance in the Grand Prix. Patrik Kittel (SWE) in the saddle of his ten-year-old World Championship horse Touchdown received 84.630%. It is the second best freestyle result of the Swedish duo, after the home World Cup in Stockholm 2021.
Fourth place went to - as already at the World Championships in Herning - Benjamin Werndl (GER) on Famoso OLD. Faulty single changes nevertheless pushed the result down to a great 82.775%.
The World Cup continues in just a few weeks. The Sweden Horse Show will present the third Western European World Cup leg of the 2022/23 season from 25 to 26 November.
