Warendorf (fn-press).

She was a good three seconds ahead at the end: Teike Carstensen from Sollwitt won the third qualification of Germany's U25 Jumping Cup of the German Top Horse Sports Foundation and the Müter family at the Prize of the Best in Warendorf. Three pairs had remained clear in the round, but all conceded at least one jumping fault in the final jump-off. Teike Carstensen and her mare Caretina were the fastest and secured first place ahead of Philipp Schulze Topphoff with Clemens de la Lande and Franziska Müller with Cornado's Queen.

"I didn't expect that," Teike Carstensen was pleased after the award ceremony. "The weekend went much better than I thought. To be honest, I arrived with mixed feelings and now I'm incredibly happy with the result." The 22-year-old from Sollwitt had already competed in the first qualification of Germany's U25 Jumping Cup in Hagen with her Holsteiner mare Caretina, but had to give up in the second test and did not qualify for the final.

Things went much better in Warendorf: Both in the qualification test on Saturday and in the round of the final qualification on Sunday, the pair remained clear. In the decisive jump-off they set a fast time of 43.17 seconds, but a pole fell at the last obstacle. After three jumping faults by Franziska Müller (Hückeswagen) and Cornado's Queen, the jump-off remained exciting until the last pair of starters. But Philipp Schulze Topphoff (Havixbeck) and Clemens de la Lande also collected four penalties and were slower than Teike Carstensen and Caretina with 46.57 seconds. The victory went to the pair from Sollwitt. Second place was secured by Philipp Schulze Topphoff with Clemens de la Lande ahead of Franziska Müller and Cornado's Queen in third place.

"That was a very demanding test and absolutely worthy of the tournament series. At the end we saw an exciting jump-off and a deserved winner. We are very much looking forward to seeing the best again in Aachen at the end of the year," was the conclusion of National Coach Otto Becker. The best are the riders who qualify for the Final at the CHIO Aachen at one of the four stages of Germany's U25 Show Jumping Cup. For Warendorf these are, in addition to the winner Teike Carstensen, Franziska Müller, Marc Nüßing, Tom Sanders and Philipp Schulze Topphoff. They have collected the most points via the qualification and final competitions at the federal base and have solved their ticket for the final.

However, before they head to the Soers in Aachen from September 10 to 19, Germany's U25 show jumpers will get one last chance to qualify for the final: The fourth and final qualification will take place during the German Championships in Balve (June 3-6).
