Samorin (fn-press).
At the second weekend of the Global Champions Tour in Samorin, Slovakia, the Swede Henrik von Eckermann rode to victory in the Grand Prix. He relegated Brazilian Marlon Modolo Zanotelli to second place and Maurice Tebbel (Emsbüren) to third.

This year's 15 stages of the Global Champions Tour and its sister series Global Champions League are over, now the best individual riders and teams are gearing up for the final of the series, which will be held in Prague from November 18 to 21. The last Grand Prix, again endowed with 300,000 euros, was won by Henrik von Eckermann. Riding his eleven-year-old Belgian gelding King Edward, with whom he was also a member of the gold medal team at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, he mastered the jump-off, which only included five pairs, in the best time of 37.22 seconds and was delighted to receive a prize money of 99,000 euros. Hot on his heels was the Brazilian rider Marlon Modolo Zanotelli, who reached the finish line with the Belgian mare Like a Diamond van het Schaeck in a clear 37.47 seconds. The best German participant, Maurice Tebbel, achieved third place with his Rhineland stallion Don Diarado. The Diarado son and the 27-year-old from Emsbüren were also clear (0/39.61).

All the other German pairs were unable to complete the course, which was designed by the Italian course designer Uliano Vezzani, without any faults and missed the jump-off. Laura Klaphake (Mühlen) and the Holstein gray stallion Quin (by Q-Verdi) placed ninth with four faults. Daniel Deußer (Rijmenam/Belgium) and Bingo Ste Hermelle, Marcus Ehning (Borken) and Stargold as well as Ludger Beerbaum (Riesenbeck) and Mila held their ground in places 12 to 14.

The overall ranking is led before the final by the Swede Peder Fredricson with 231 points. The new number one in the world rankings had collected the most top placings in the 15 Tour stages. For this he will receive a bonus of 232,500 euros. He is followed by his compatriot Henrik von Eckermann (234 points), the best German is Christian Ahlmann (Marl) in seventh place with 210 points. hen
