From July 1 to 4, it will be exciting at Hof Waterkant, the home of World Champion Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann and her husband Christoph Zimmermann. This is because the couple is hosting a CSI***, which has many other highlights in store in addition to a Holsteiner Verband foal auction.

"I owe a lot to the show events in the north," Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann told the press, explaining why they decided to launch a new show in Schleswig-Holstein just in the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic. Now, about a week before the start of the event, the situation around Corona has fortunately calmed down considerably, so that even spectators can be welcomed. And they get a lot on offer: In addition to top-class sport and culinary delights by the team of Hamburg star chef Cornelia Poletto, twelve very special foals will come up for auction in hybrid format on Saturday evening. The marketing director of the Holsteiner Verband, Roland Metz, is responsible for the lot. "The offers come from international top sires and currently sport-successful dam lines, which are supplemented by some offspring of younger and young stallions," knows Managing Director Roland Metz. And of course, offspring from the first crop of Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann's offspring Chinchero must not be missing in this collection. Three of the twelve foals are descended from the reserve winner of the 2019 Holstein licensing. Among them is catalog number 10, whose granddam is the direct dam of the 1.60-meter jumper Lando by Landjunge.

Internationally it goes on: For example, immediately the number 1 of the catalog. This is none other than the half-sister to Daniel Deußer's Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z. On her sire's side, the chestnut mare descends from Chacco Blue. The dam line of catalog number 4 is equally successful in sport. The colt is named Blue Wave - in reference to his famous half-brother fischerWildWave, who is on the shortlist for the Olympic Games in Tokyo together with eventing ace Michael Jung. Blue Wave has the Baloubet du Rouet son Baloucan for a sire. Also exciting is the pedigree of catalog number 7. This son of Don VHP comes from the direct dam line of Rosalia la Silla, Olympic fifth at Londonn, and thus from the Holstein mare line 1907, which has already produced numerous 1.60 meter horses. From Tangelo van de Zuuhthoeve, Diamant de Semilly to Chilli Willi, there are interesting genetics in the mix, all of which have been valuably secured in the proven Holstein mare lines. The auction of the foals is scheduled for Saturday evening (July 3) of the show. If you have any questions about the collection, Roland Metz (+49 171 4364 651 or rmetz@holsteiner-verband.de) will of course be happy to answer them. On the portal holsteiner.auction all information about the candidates is deposited.
