Warendorf (fn-press). The candidates for the Piaff Förderpreis 2022 have been determined. As part of a course followed by a training test at the federal base in Warendorf, 42 couples applied for a starting place in the renowned series for young U25 dressage riders. A total of twelve riders were able to recommend themselves for the series - in addition to the seeded members of the U25 junior dressage squad.

"It's amazing how the sport is developing, also across the board. We had a very good field of participants here, also with a number of new faces,” said Sebastian Heinze, national trainer of the U25 dressage riders, who was a bit surprised himself given the high number of entries. “All in all, it was a mixed field with some very experienced and experienced Grand Prix horses with younger riders, but also a whole range of talented nine and ten-year-old horses that were also trained by the riders themselves. Of course there were still mistakes here and there, but ten couples with a result of over 70 percent show that we are on the right track in this age group.”

The following riders were nominated (in alphabetical order): Kristin Biermann (Essen/WES), Anna Casper (Donzdorf/BAW), Helen Erbe, (Krefeld/RHL), Henriette Hachmeister (Hemmoor/BRE), Felicitas Hendricks (Hagen aTW /WES), Ann-Kahrin Lachemann (Eggenstein/BAW), Joana Peterka (Mettmann/RHL), Victoria Rohrmuss (Schwäbisch Gmünd/BAW), Anna Schölermann (Lichtenau/WEF), Victoria Marie Schönhofen (Saarlouis/SAL), Selina Söder (Aubenhausen/BAY) and Lia Welschof (Paderborn/WEF).

In addition, the members of the U25 junior squad for dressage – Raphael Netz (Aubenhausen/BAY) and Semmieke Rothenberger (Bad Homburg/HES) are eligible to start in the series.

The Piaff Promotional Prize was created to smooth the way into Grand Prix sport for dressage riders under the age of 25. The series for young dressage riders is made possible by the Liselott Schindling Foundation for the promotion of dressage sport.
