In the end they made it really exciting again: Because actually the Berlin Eagles with Philipp Weishaupt and Coby and Christian Kukuk and Mumbai were even very comfortably in the lead with 16 points after their pursuers, the Stockholm Hearts, threw down. Actually...But in the all-decisive last round for the Global Champions League Tour victory 2022 in Riyadh on Saturday afternoon, Christian Kukuk and Mumbai threw out two poles in the treacherous triple combination. Suddenly the lead was only eight points and Philipp Weishaupt was under pressure with Coby. But Weishaupt kept his nerve and delivered another clear round with Coby. Tour victory for the Berlin Eagles and 1.6 million prize money included.

"You can see how quickly such a lead melts away. And then I stumbled a bit in the course, so I thought it wasn't our day. But then we made it. I am just tired now and incredibly happy that we have the victory in the bag," said Philipp Weishaupt afterwards, very relieved, who was also the winner in the individual classification. By the way, third place in the individual classification went to Global Tour newcomer André Thieme with his DSP Chakaria. The pair had a perfect debut in the Tour with two super clear rounds for Valkenswaard United.
The Stockholm Hearts with Peder Fredricson and Malin Baryard Johnsson finished second in the 2022 Tour ahead of the Prague Lions.
The stage victory in Riyadh was secured for the first time this season by the St Tropez Pirates with Daniel Deusser and Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z (by Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve) and Michael Pender with HH Calais (by Cavalier Royale) and four flawless rounds in Saudi Arabia.
