Holsteiner Pferdetage: The elite in focus

(Elmshorn) Friends of the Holstein horse are looking forward to a highlight in the calendar of events that offers a stage for very special horses and may even be accompanied by 250 spectators in accordance with state regulations: the Holsteiner Pferde Tage in Elmshorn will attract top-class programs for breeding and sports fans from June 10 to 13.

The Verband mare show, the state championships for show jumpers and dressage horses, Bundeschampionat qualifications and the foal auction adorn the schedule of the event, which takes place at the Holsteiner Verband facility in Elmshorn. In the mare entries held in the past few weeks in the individual basket districts, 35 three-year-olds have qualified for the Verband mare show in Elmshorn on June 13. The selected mares are sired by 26 sires, with sire legend Casall providing the most in this year's show with five daughters. His son Cascadello I is represented in Elmshorn with three mares. This year's dress ring will also feature mares by sires Amber, For Romance, Rubin-Royal, Sir Donnerhall, Zack and Zhivago. "At the Verband mare show, the top of the crop of Holstein mares comes together, which is why it is a highly interesting and valuable event for the breeding community and for us as an association," emphasizes Breeding Director Stephan Haarhoff. "I am very much looking forward to this traditional event, which this year will feature a group of mares with great genetic diversity."

28 foals to be auctioned
The auction of quality foals during the Pferde Tage is already well established and has proven to be a valuable marketing platform in the past. As in 2020, Managing Director and Auction Manager Roland Metz and his team have decided to hold an auction in a hybrid format. This means that interested parties can bid both live on site and online or on the phone. 28 foals will be awarded to new owners on June 12. Proven sires such as Casall, Colman, Conthargos and Diarado are represented as sires alongside a large number of up-and-coming young stallions. The Cornet Obolensky sons Crack, Cahil and Cornet's Quaprice each provide several foals and for the friends of Holstein dressage horses Roland Metz has discovered four stars of the future. The offers will make their first public appearance on the morning of June 12 at the Herbert-Blöcker-Platz in Elmshorn before the auction begins in the afternoon. All information on the 28 candidates is available on the holsteiner.auction portal, where bids can be submitted until the end of the auction. Until then, you can contact Roland Metz (+49 171 4364 651) or Alexandra Bitter (+49 170 3825465) with any questions about the auction. The Holstein State Championships always feature the most talented horses of a particular year. The four to seven year old show jumpers and the five and six year old dressage horses will choose their Landeschampion after qualification and finals. In addition, qualifications for the Bundeschampionat will be held on the Thursday of the event for both the three- and four-year-old riding horses and jumping ponies. New in the program is the Holsteiner Future Cup: The two best pairs from each of the riding horse competitions on Thursday qualify for the final on Sunday. The Grand Tour with the final at S** level provides for demanding show jumping. "The Holsteiner Horse Days are the first outdoor highlight this year," said Roland Metz. "They become something very special through the close interaction of breeding and sport with the Verband mare show and the state championships, further enhanced by top-class competitions in the course and framed by the foal auction."

250 spectators are allowed on the association grounds in accordance with state regulations. Of course a mask obligation applies and the distance requirement is to be kept.
