(Elmshorn) Around 35 horses are part of the collection of the third Winter Chance, which will close the Holstein auction year 2021 on December 12. This event has established itself over the past two years as an ideal platform for rough diamonds to train themselves, but horses that have already been ridden, some with show successes, have also made it into the selection.

For example, catalog number 1, Quintheo R by Quintero-Casall: the six-year-old has already been placed in jumping competitions up to 1.10 meters and his full brother Theo was successful on the international stage under Dirk and Hannes Ahlmann. Other top athletes with placings up to 1.50 meters come from the direct dam line of this large-framed black bay. The catalog number 5 is also very interesting: Allegretta by Adagio de Talma-Calido I has the same granddam as Mark Todd's five-star hero and Olympic seventh-place finisher in Rio de Janeiro, Leonidas by Landos. The XL-sized gray mare is a four-year-old ready for the 2022 show season. Catalog number 12, Mitchell by Million Dollar-Uriko, presents another offering with sporting ambitions: The 2018 gelding is out of a mare and stallion dam who was successful up to 1.20 meter jumping herself: the recently licensed Zuccarello by Zuccero in Neumünster is his half-brother. His granddam also produced the licensed and highly decorated Crunch by Clarimo up to 1.60 meter tests.

The schedule - auction starting at 2:30 p.m. On December 6, the horses move into the auction stables in Elmshorn and undergo a first vet check. From the following day up to and including December 11, they can be tried out at any time by appointment. On the day of the auction, December 12, the presentation of the younger horses will begin at 10 a.m. and they will be shown in free running and free jumping. Afterwards the Fritz-Thiedemann-Hall belongs to the already ridden horses at a presentation under saddle. For those who decide at short notice, there will be one last opportunity to try out horses before the auction starts at 2:30 pm. Currently, the third Holsteiner Winter Chance is planned as a hybrid auction, depending on the applicable state regulations, the auction may be conducted online. The entire event will be broadcast live via ClipMyHorse.tv. In the context of the Holsteiner Winter-Chance, the 2G regulation applies. The collection can be viewed now with pedigrees, photo and video material at holsteiner.auction. All questions about the auction and of course about the horses themselves will be answered by Roland Metz (phone: +49 171 4364 651, e-mail: rmetz@holsteiner-verband.de).
