NÜRNBERGER BURG-POKAL is always in for a surprise - and this was also the case at its 30th birthday final. Helen Langehanenberg wins the 30th final with a double victory! "So for me today was already Christmas Eve! Of course, I celebrate again with the family, but I think: this was my celebration today"
Even before she rode in as the last starter with Straight Horse Ascenzione, it was clear: For the first time, the Team World and European Champion has secured victory in the BURG-POKAL Final. With the eight-year-old Scolari daughter Beautiful Scarlett, she presented a faultless, elastic and expressive test, which was awarded an even 77 percent by the five judges. BURG-POKAL commentator Christoph Hess enthused: "A great harmonious round. Helen staged her mare beautifully. Beautiful Scarlett was absolutely focused and had the perfect positive tension." But then stable neighbor Ascenzione came along and snatched the win from under her nose by a razor-thin margin. 77.268 percent was the score for the full sister of three-time World Champion Sezuan. This mare also presented herself with exceptional elegance, dynamics and joy of going.
Helen Langehanenberg was jubilant: "It is amazing to be able to travel with two mares like this and both of them went top. I am incredibly grateful and would like to thank my whole team. This is only possible when you perform as a team. It's great."
The 30th birthday of the NÜRNBERGER BURG-POKAL - a Helen Langehanenberg celebration. But Andreas Politycki, member of the board of NÜRNBERGER VERSICHERUNG also enjoyed the round BURG-POKAL birthday at the Schafhof: "The Schafhof has a fantastic atmosphere and is hardly inferior to the Festhalle in anything - there are just more people in the Festhalle."
It was also very close for third and fourth place. BURG-POKAL newcomer Frederic Wandres came out on top in the end on Quizmaster and finished third with 75.463 percent, followed by Charlott-Maria Schürmann on Absinth and 75.439 percent. For the 2012 BURG-POKAL winner, it was the sixth final appearance in Germany's most traditional dressage series.
On behalf of the riders, the winner thanked the Linsenhoff-Rath family for hosting these three finals with a commemorative photo of all participating riders. "We are very happy that we could be here. We know it wasn't a given."
On the occasion of his 30th birthday, Politycki also brought a particularly nice gift to the German dressage sport: "We want to continue to be a partner for the entire equestrian sport and support it. In insurance, we make three-year plans, which is why the NÜRNBERGER BURG-POKAL will continue for the next three years.
