German Young Riders win silver medal at EC

The German U21 dressage riders won the silver medal at the European Championships in Oliva Nova, Spain. The Netherlands dominated the team classification, bronze went to Denmark.


The two experienced championship riders Luca Sophia Collin (Düsseldorf) with Descolari and Anna Middelberg (Glandorf) with Blickfang HC as well as the European Championship newcomers in the juniors, Helena Schmitz-Morkramer (Hamburg) with DSP Lifestyle and Elisabeth von Wulffen (Munich) with Fiesta Bonita, formed the German silver team in Spain.


Helena Schmitz-Morkramer made the start in the arena and delivered 72.647 percent with the eleven-year-old Lord Fantasic offspring DSP Lifestyle. Elisabeth von Wulffen and Fiesta Bonita had come together and improved during the season, with the nomination for the European Championships as their crowning achievement. The two still made small mistakes, so that 66.530 percent were on the scoreboard in the end.


Anna Middelberg and the Hanoverian Bellissimo son Blickfang HC were still juniors in 2020 and had won team gold at the European Championships in Hungary. In their first year with the young riders, they showed steady nerves and rode them to 70.529 percent in the team task.


Luca Sophia Collin and Descolari (by Deperados) had won the German Young Riders Championships in 2020 and the Prize of the Best in 2021. They also proved their good form at the second selection, the Future Champions in Hagen, and won, among others, the freestyle of the young riders. In Oliva they showed the best performance from a German point of view with 73.118 percent, which meant fourth place in the competition. First to third place went to the Netherlands, with Marten Luiten and Fynona showing the best individual performance with 77.677 percent.


For the youngest age group at international level, the Children up to 14 years on large horses, the first part of the team classification will start on Friday before the European Team Champions are decided on Saturday. The children, however, have already started in a run-in competition and have presented themselves great there, they made the first three places among themselves. The victory went to Clara Paschertz (Cloppenburg) and Danubio OLD with 83.226 percent. Second place went to Lotta Plaas (Warendorf) and Balsamico with 82.643 percent. Martha Raupach from Damme and Jack Sparrow with 82.179 percent. The fourth pair in the German team, Lara Lattermann (Ansbach) and Soleil de la Coeur H finished sixth in the first competition with 79.447 percent. lau
