One of the absolute traditional horse shows in Ireland has been cancelled for the second time due to the Corona pandemic.
The tournament was actually scheduled for mid-August, from the 18th - 22nd.

Dublin Horse Show has a long and significant tradition. Usually, several CSIO5* show jumping events are held on the occasion of the biggest show in Ireland.
Likewise, the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup Series planned a stop here.

"An official statement from the Dublin Horse Show said: The RDS has been monitoring the evolving situation regarding Covid-19, including vaccination rates and the latest government recommendations. Under the current circumstances, it has been decided that it will not be possible to hold a Dublin Horse Show this year. Preparations for a typical Dublin Horse Show take many months of planning and organization, and this was not possible this year with the level of uncertainty that still exists for the reopening of the Irish Society. Instead, it is our intention to host an "RDS National Championships" from August 18-22, subject to government approval, for selected national competitions in show jumping and show classes.

The international governing body of equestrian sport (Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI)) has been informed that no international show jumping competitions will be held at the RDS this year. The RDS National Championships will consist of a reduced number of national competitions spread over three days of show jumping and two days of jumping competitions. The RDS National Championships will be held "behind closed doors." Admission to the event is restricted to riders competing on the day the competition is held. The RDS is anxious to act responsibly during this time and the event will only take place with government permission, which is currently being obtained."
