Spectacular is the word of the evening! Charlotte Fry (GBR) cracked the sound barrier of dressage on her Lord Leatherdale son Glamourdale and impressively danced to victory in the Grand Prix Freestyle with 90.567%. As in the Special, silver went to Cathrine Dufour (DEN) and Vamos Amigos with a small fault, ahead of Dinja van Liere (NED) and Hermes. The ungrateful fourth place went to Benjamin Werndl (GER), who presented Famoso OLD in the form of his life.
The 26-year-old British rider Charlotte Fry (GBR) was allowed to go first today and she made perfect use of this opportunity. When Glamourdale trotted into the stadium, it almost took your breath away. The two of them just wanted to succeed in everything. The reinforcements were given top marks, the audience murmured. Only in the strong walk did the KWPN stallion not show the best disposition (6,5-8). The final line was accompanied by loud clapping, the jury saw it the same way and awarded an incredible 90.567 % for the ride of the dream team. Now Dinja van Liere and Cathrine Dufour had to step up.

The Dutch rider Dinja van Liere (NED) showed a faultless performance on her ten-year-old Easy Game son Hermes with a high level of lesson safety, and the seven judges did not award a score lower than "7"! In the end, the score was 86.9% and thus bronze, ahead of Benjamin Werndl (GER), who had been in the lead up to that point, on Famoso OLD, who received 85.893% for incredibly beautiful riding and thus achieved a personal best. The local hero Cathrine Dufor (DEN) came in as the final rider and the audience knew: Vamos Amigos was only welcomed into the stadium with a mini-applause in order to be able to keep his concentration. The Westphalian gelding is on the air. Today, however, Cathrine Dufour felt she had released the handbrake and rode more on risk, what did she have to lose? The piaffe-passage tour was of great regularity, the pirouettes for "10" and the difficulty with changes from two to one was extremely high. Only in the first strong trot was there a small hitch: Vamos cantered off, Cathrine corrected it in the second, but the judges had seen it. Scores from 6 to 7. On the final line, a fan piaffe, it was clear that this was going to be really close. And so it was: Cathrine Dufour received 89.411 % - and thus the Vice World Champion title again.
