That the dressage at Horses and Dreams in Hagen is always a highlight has been known for many years. But this year the whole thing is raised to a new level.

One could think that the dressage sport in Germany wants to enter into a duel with itself. Already at the past German Championships in Balve 2020 there was an exciting duel between the "dressage queen", record champion Isabell Werth and the new "dressage princess", Jessica von Bredow-Wendel. At the time, the two were riding Weihegold and TSF Dalera.

Now Jessica von Bredow-Werndl was again with her mare Dalera in Hagen in the Grand Prix at the start and showed again, with what a class the two are in the arena.

"Today is Dalera's birthday - she has given us both her best birthday present!" beamed Jessica von Bredow-Werndl.

"Dalera is so what 'on fire'," announces the lady from Aubenhausen. "She has so much desire and I also. And having her as a dance partner is the best thing that could happen to me." This birthday present is no less than a new personal record in the Grand Prix of Hagen on the occasion of the Grand Prix Special Tour. In the end, that meant 81.652 percent.

But the rider from Bavaria cannot rest on her laurels. Close on her heels was the "leading British Lady" Charlotte Dujardin. She came with Freestyle on 81.457 percent.

In third place then followed the German queen of dressage, Isabell Werth with the eleven-year-old Quaterback son DSP Quantaz and 78.630%.

As you can see a strong field. But the dressage sport in Germany is currently basically on a high. One can hardly believe that there are currently so many pairs that achieve over 75% in almost every Grand Prix. So it will be an exciting decision who the national coach will take to Tokyo.

Also for the other tests on the weekend it is certainly worthwhile to put once an eye on Hagen. The best pairs in Europe are competing in view of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. So it remains exciting how the results of the upcoming Grand Prix Special will continue.
